Chuuk Reef Creatures Identification  Guide

Chuuk Lagoon, also called Truk Lagoon, is fringed by reefs and approximately 50 miles long by 30 miles wide, and located in the Federated States of Micronesia.  During World War II, Truk Lagoon was one of Japan’s important strongholds in the Pacific Ocean.  On February 17-18, 1944, American forces attacked the Japanese fleet at Truk Lagoon, in an operation known as Operation Hailstone.  60 ships and 275 planes were sent to the bottom of the lagoon, as Operation Hailstone was a tremendous success for allied forces.

Now, over 60 years later, Chuuk Lagoon is the home to the undisputed world’s greatest wreck diving.  Scuba divers from all over the world come to dive amongst the numerous ship wrecks and plane wrecks.

Franko’s Chuuk Reef Creatures Identification Guide shows Chuuk Lagoon on Side One, with the locations of wrecks, and  Side Two features dozens of reef creatures that you will see when you’re down.  Franko’s Chuuk Reef Creatures Identification Guide is fully waterproof – take it with you when you dive!
